Hi Meg
Sorry i have to dissagree with you there, but you are right with an exercise program, juce fasting can be combined with exersice, fasting gives back control where there was no control over eating, trust me i have been there done it and could write a book about it!
Have you ever tryed a fast?...There is allways a religeous factor in every day life, but yes more so on a water fast. You cannot down something that you know nothing about, but hey you are entitled to your opinion Meg.
Best regards Keith.

it is true about the raw food diet. Learning to abstain from compulsive eating is (`1) realizing that you are powerless and can't do it alone (2) making abstinence your priority along with spiritually enhancing and strengthening your mind and program and (3) making a food plan that you can live with. Most eating disorders institutes and organizations and programs follow 12 steps and no sugar or white flour as these are triggers,. alongwith suggesting that the individual make a list of his/her binge foods == you also have to change your entire way of doing things -- i.e., grocery shopping (not going down aisles that will trigger you) -- not going to buffet restaurants; sticking to your guns when your in a group and having the courage to say..."no thanks for asking but I can't do that" with no further explanation required. I have gained and lost over 1200 lbs. in my life -- yes 1200 lbs. !!! I can't tell you what I've lost physically and spiritually and emotionally because of this goddamned disease/illness. I still try to diet and I fall flat on my face within 10 minutes. Certain binge foods that I tried to convince myself that I could "train my thinking" into being able to eat these foods has consistently made a jackass and fool out of me. Staying made at God for making me this way and having to beg him for help didn't do any good either soooooooo -- yes, you don't need a juicer; yes, you don't need to try another diet but the food is important. Diets do work -- when adhered to diets do work! It's the long haul that doesn't work -- until a person who is a compulsive eater has had their last binge and has accepted that in no uncertain terms can he ever eat normally, he will never succeed. Somehow I was able to lose 310 lbs. and keep it off 5.5 years -- I gained half back and have maintained a weight loss/weight gain for 13 years -- I can't seem to surrender again and I can't seem to adjust to the 12 steps and way of living that requires us to adhere to in order to be successful.

you have got to be kidding. this is the same as a diet, or even worse. this will only lead into MORE bingeing and more compulsive overeating because of the obsessive control factor. while i believe exercise IS essential, the abstaining of every behavior that is pleasurable is ridiculous, as is the overzealous religious aspect. you don't need a food processor or a juicer to get help with compulsive eating, and any person who is trying to convince you of such is just another diet scam-artist.
